1: Junior Pattern Maker, Grader & Lay - Planner

About You
We are looking for an analytical individual with a passion for garment construction, precision sizing, and material efficiency. Great attention to detail, a steady eye for technical accuracy, and an understanding of how 2D patterns translate into 3D garments are essential for this role. Experience with digital or manual pattern drafting, grading, or marker making is highly valued. Whether you are a recent graduate looking for your first break, or you have some industry experience, we want to hear from you! More than anything, we want someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work, and enjoys working as part of a close-knit, supportive factory family.

The Role
In this position, you will be a vital part of our pre-production team, working directly alongside our Head Pattern Maker. You will help bring designs to life across our sizing range and maximize our fabric usage through smart layout strategies.
Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with digital or manual pattern drafting and alterations.

  • Grading patterns accurately across our size chart to maintain a perfect fit.

  • Organizing and executing smart lay planning (marker making) to minimize fabric waste for production.

  • Preparing cutting markers and collaborating closely with our cutting room floor.

What We Offer

  • Availability: Immediate start available.

  • Pay: Competitive / Dependent on experience (to be discussed at interview).

  • Overtime: Opportunities for increased earnings in the form of overtime to help us hit our weekly production and shipping targets.

  • Training: Full on-the-job training provided—if you have the right drive, we are happy to fund external training for systems like Optitex!

  • Full-time hours: 37.5 hours per week.

  • Flexible schedule: Choose your own start and finish times to fit your lifestyle.

  • Half-day Fridays: Enjoy an early start to your weekend every single week!

  • A warm environment: Work within a friendly, supportive, and family-oriented business.

Our Interview Process
We don't believe in formal, stressful interviews. Instead, we invite shortlisted candidates to pop into the factory for an informal chat, a walkthrough to meet the team, and a short, paid practical trial. This gives us a chance to chat about your specific pattern or grading experience, lets you test our setup, and ensures we are the right fit for each other.
